Domestic Violence & Homelessness Mount Isa

The aim of this program is to assist women and men alone, or with children escaping domestic and family violence who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Workers provide information, support, referral and practical assistance to find appropriate housing.

Workers provide flexible and culturally inclusive service delivery using a case management approach to homelessness. There is ongoing assessment of a client's needs and ongoing safety planning as well as emotional and practical support.

The service is in collaboration with other homelessness services in Mount Isa  and other services within NQDVRS such as Court Support, the men's perpetrator intervention program (MIMenTER) and the Safe at Home service.

Workers participate in the Integrated Case Management (ICM) network and the Homeless Community Action Plan (HCAP).
